AISSEE 2025 - Key Information for Admission

Important Dates

  • Online Application Submission: 24 Dec 2024 – 13 Jan 2025 (till 5:00 PM)

Exam Duration & Schedule

  • Class VI Exam: 150 minutes (2:00 PM – 4:30 PM)
  • Class IX Exam: 180 minutes (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
  • Exam Mode: Pen & Paper (OMR-based)

Class VI:
  • Language (25 Qs, 50 Marks)
  • Mathematics (50 Qs, 150 Marks)

Class IX:
  • Mathematics (50 Qs, 200 Marks)

  • Social Science (25 Qs, 50 Marks)
  • Total: 150 Qs, 400 Marks

Eligibility Criteria

Class VI:
  • Age: 10 – 12 years (Born between 01 April 2013 – 31 March 2015)
  • Both Boys & Girls can apply
Class IX:
  • Age: 13 – 15 years (Born between 01 April 2010 – 31 March 2012)
  • Both Boys & Girls can apply
  • Must have passed Class VIII from a recognized school

Medium of Examination

  • Class VI: English, Hindi, and regional languages (12 options)
  • Class IX: English only

Passing Criteria

  • General/OBC: Minimum 25% in each subject & 40% overall
  • SC/ST: No minimum marks required, admission based on merit

Reservation Criteria for Existing 33 Sainik Schools

  • 67% of seats are reserved for candidates domiciled in the state/UT where the Sainik School is located.
  • 33% of seats are reserved for candidates from other states and UTs.
  • Within each category (Home State/UT and Other States/UT), seat reservation is as follows:
    • 15% for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates.
    • 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates.
    • 27% for Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) as per the central list.
    • Total 49.50% of seats are reserved under these categories.
    • 25% of remaining seats are reserved for the wards of serving and ex-servicemen of Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Seat Distribution for Girls in Class VI

  • One seat per category is allotted for girl candidates.
  • 10% of Class VI strength or a minimum of 10 seats (whichever is higher) is reserved for girls.

Important Notes on Reservation

  • Wards of Coast Guard/Assam Rifles personnel should not select the Defence category but must choose SC, ST, OBC-NCL, or General as applicable.
  • They will be considered for Defence Category only if vacancies remain after allotting seats to wards of serving and ex-servicemen.
  • They are not eligible for Defence scholarships.
  • If reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC-NCL) are not available in a particular Home State/UT, seats will be reallocated within that Home State/UT.
  • No category change is allowed after submission, except through the correction window.
  • The domicile status of Telangana candidates for Sainik School Korukonda and Kalikiri is pending and subject to government orders.

Barred Items in Examination Hall

Candidates must not carry the following items to the exam centre:

  • Stationery items – printed/written materials, geometry boxes, calculators, writing pads, electronic pens/scanners, etc.
  • Electronic devices – mobile phones, Bluetooth, earphones, microphones, pagers, smartwatches, etc.
  • Personal items – wallets, handbags, belts, caps, goggles, etc.
  • Metallic items and ornaments.
  • Food items – opened or packed.
  • Any device that can be used for unfair means, such as microchips, hidden cameras, etc.
Additional Points:
  • No facility will be provided to store personal belongings at the exam centre.
  • Possession of any barred item will be treated as the use of unfair means, and strict action will be taken.

Admit Card Instructions

  • The admit card will be available on the NTA website three weeks before the exam.
  • Candidates must download it using their application number and date of birth.
  • The admit card is non-transferable and cannot be used by another person.
  • Candidates can appear for the exam only at the centre and time mentioned on the admit card.
  • If unable to download the admit card, candidates must contact the NTA Helpline (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday).
  • Any discrepancies in the admit card should be reported immediately.
Important Notes:
  • The admit card will not be sent by post.
  • Duplicate admit cards will not be issued at the exam centre.
  • Candidates must not mutilate, disfigure, or alter any entry on the admit card.
  • The admit card should be preserved for future reference.
  • If the application is incomplete or does not meet eligibility criteria, the admit card will not be issued.
  • Issuance of an admit card does not confirm eligibility; eligibility will be verified at later stages.

Examination Details

  • Class VI Exam: Duration - 150 minutes (02:00 PM to 04:30 PM)
  • Class IX Exam: Duration - 180 minutes (02:00 PM to 05:00 PM)

Declaration of Results

  • NTA will publish results on its official website and the respective school's website.
  • Candidates will be informed via email and SMS.
  • Candidates should not contact the NTA Help Desk or schools for result-related queries.

Results & Merit List

  • NTA will prepare the result sheet as per Sainik Schools Society's requirements.
  • Merit lists will be published on NTA's website, including:
    • School-wise & category-wise merit list (separately for boys & girls, Class VI & IX).
    • All India Merit List for admission under the 40% route (Class VI & IX).
    • School-wise Merit List for the 60% route for new Sainik Schools (Class VI & IX).
  • Admissions will be conducted through e-counseling based on AISSEE-2025 merit.
  • Candidates must re-register on: https://pesa.ncog.gov.in/sainikschoolecounselling/ after results are declared.
  • The Final Merit List will be published after the medical exam and will include:
    • Main List (equal to the total number of seats per category).
    • Waiting List (remaining candidates).
Important Points Regarding Admission:
  • Being on the Waiting List does not guarantee admission.
  • If seats remain unfilled due to medical unfitness, document issues, or withdrawal, they will be filled as per norms.
  • Candidates must accept the school allotted during e-counseling. If a candidate rejects an allotment, they will not be reconsidered for that school in future rounds.
