The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI) has established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous, and self-sustained premier testing organization under the Societies Registration Act (1860) for conducting efficient, transparent, and international standardized tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions with a mission to improve equity and quality in education by developing and administering research-based valid, reliable, efficient, transparent, fair and international level assessments.

To be eligible for the JEE Main exam, candidates must have completed or are appearing in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects. There is no age limit or minimum marks in Class 12 for appearing in the exam, but candidates can attempt it for three consecutive years from the year of passing Class 12. Candidates can check here the detailed eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2025 prescribed by the NTA for appearing in the exam. All candidates must ensure their eligibility before applying for the exam failing which their candidature will be cancelled.
Candidates must have passed class 12 in 2023, 2024 or appearing in 2025. There is no minimum percentage required to appear in JEE Main however, candidates must secure a minimum of 75% marks in class 12 or get admission in IITs, NITs or IIITs. Candidates must have Mathematics as a compulsory subject in class 12. There is no age limit to apply for JEE Main

The application form for JEE Advanced 2025 will be released via online mode. No other mode will be entertained. JEE Advanced 2025 Registration process will commence from 23rd April 2025. While filling application form, candidates must not forget to submit passport size photograph & signature in prescribed format.
Authority may also provide correction facility to rectify mistakes (if any) in the application form. All communication details will be sent to registered number & mail ID, so it must be valid/ working. One must ensure they fulfill each eligibility norms as form will be accepted only of eligible candidates.
Once all details are completely filled, candidates must not forgot to take printout of it for future use.

Nationality: Indian National including OCI/PIO will be eligible to apply for the exam. Foreign candidates will also be able to apply under 10% the supernumerary seat quota. Qualification: One must qualify 12th level examination in 2024 & 2025 from any recognized board or university.
Mandatory Subject: To be eligible, one must have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics(PCM) as a mandatory subjects. Percentage: Candidates must score minimum 75% marks in class 12th and at least 65% minimum marks for SC, ST and PWD category candidates. Number of Attempts: Candidates will be allowed to give JEE Advanced exam only two times in two consecutive years.
Age Limit: In case of General and OBC categories, candidates must have been born on or after October 1st, 2000. Five year of age relaxation will be given to the SC/ST/PWD category candidates. JEE Main Performance: One must be among the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main qualified candidates to be eligible for JEE Advanced examination.
The JEE Advanced 2025 Exam Pattern will be as follows:
Mode of Exam: The exam will be conducted via online (Computer-based test) mode. Subjects: The questions will be asked from three subjects – Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics
Number of Papers: There will be 2 Papers – 1 & 2 (Both Compulsory). Duration: Candidates will be given 3 hours to solve the exam (4 hours for PWD category candidates).
Type of Questions: There will be Multiple Choice Question (MCQs) in the question paper. Language: Questions will be asked in Hindi and English both the languages. Marking Scheme: Each section will consists of different marking scheme. Some questions will carry negative marks in case of wrong response.

Go through the exam pattern/ syllabus and must prefer NCERT books to prepare. Make proper short notes & revise them in regular basis. Start early preparation, it will help you to complete whole syllabus on time. Avoid all the distractions which affects your studies, keep your mind fresh. Practice from mock test & past years question papers. Do not get panic, take proper sleep & plan your study schedule accordingly. Keep at least last one week for revision.
